Transition Initiatives

How do you make the change to a better world? - By creating Transition Initiatives in your part of the world, wherever you live. There are currently (October 2011) over 390 initiatives across the globe, with over 475 in the incubation stages.Transition Initiatives create a vision of what a better world would look like and then work towards making the transition to bring it to reality. People in Transition recognize that peope, community and social connections are more important that economics, money, wanting and having it all, that human well-being is more important than Gross Domestic Product.

A Transition Initiative is more a celebration than a protest march.

We cannot expect corporations to do it.

What we are convinced of is this:

• If we wait for the governments, it'll be too little, too late
• If we act as individuals, it'll be too little
• But if we act as communities, it might just be enough, just in time.
